We are beginners and this place was great! Had a good amount easy stuff and then we moved to blue and then we even did a few of the shorter black runs! Some of the runs are really long! Rental equipment was in good shape. The online ticket deal was not smooth and I saw several people leave because of this. As a business person I would look at this process.

It's probably the second best (behind Lutsen) skiing area in Minnesota. They have plenty of marvelous black diamond runs and mostly quad chair lifts to negotiate them. Watch out for the owners wife. She has a bite.

The runs at welch were super fun and well put together. Unfortunately the back part of the hill was closed but it was still super fun. The park was really fun and had lots of features. I would recommend this place.

I’ve been a season passholder at Welch Village for several years, and it continues to impress me year after year. The consistent upgrades—whether it’s improved facilities, better lift operations, or enhanced snowmaking—show that the resort is always investing in the guest experience. The staff is friendly, helpful, and clearly takes pride in what they do, which makes every visit feel welcoming. The quality of the runs is excellent, with terrain that stays well‑maintained throughout the season. Whether I’m looking for something challenging or just a smooth, relaxing ride, I can always count on finding great conditions. At this point, I’d happily go out of my way to ski here. It’s become my go‑to resort in the midwest for a reason, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a consistently great ski or snowboarding experience.

For the midwest, this is a nice spot with tree-lined runs a half mile long and pleasant river valley views. I docked a star because the price is too high, north of $80 for 360 vert on a Monday and they don't open till 10am. Must buy lift tkt in advance online.

Great skiing, and snow boarding experience at Welch. The daily lift ticket was about $70 per person for 9am to 9pm. The lift ticket included all the runs at Welch. We also bought the rental package that included boots, poles, and ski's/boards and helmets if you ask for one.

This place is awesome!! Weekend night skiing from 6-10pm for $39 bucks can’t be beat! I’ve avoided most of the local twin cities ski areas because they’re predominantly lame, but Welch definitely scratched the ski itch. Even on a Friday night nearly all runs were open, there were fun and steep runs, and the manufactured snow felt excellent. Loved the slopes and the amenities here and can’t wait to come back!
